Are you planning to visit Oman
for a visa change and it falls on or after the 21st of March 2018?
You need not worry.
Earlier this week, the news of
the changes in the Oman visa rules have been flooding and there has been a
hustle within the visa change passengers as well as the residents, who love to
visit Oman for a short day trip or an excursion for a day or two. A little more
planning is foreseen to be required, as you might not be able to get your visas
directly at the borders or at the visa service desks. The visas have to be
applied online through the Royal Oman Police e-visa website.
If you’re a tourist who is
eligible to enter Oman or a resident with a profession as mentioned on the
e-visa website, then all you got to do is to fill up an online form as well as
attach your valid travel documents and pay a fee through the global payment
gateway. Once your Oman visa is issued, you shall be notified via the email
you’ve mentioned.
In cases of passengers who would
be going for the Oman visa change, you don’t have to have concerns about
applying your visa online. If you’re going for a visa change, your travel agent
who has booked for your visa change will be applying for your Oman tourist visa
that will be valid for 30-days, single entry. The visa processing usually takes
2-3 working days and you will be notified on its issuance. This visa can be
used, both if you’re going for the Oman visa change by air or by bus.
Even though the new rules
indicate a rise in the Oman tourist visa fee, the rate for the visa change
passengers, however remains the same. The total length of the stay in Oman is
only one month. Within 30 days you would be liable to exit Oman and enter UAE
with your new tourist or employment visa.
You can travel to Oman for a visa
change, if:
1. Your
UAE visa needs a renewal
2. You
are from cancellation visa of resident/employment and applying for a new UAE
visa
3. Your
previous UAE employment/resident visa is been cancelled and you’d be coming
with a new resident or employment visa.
The reason for rejection of your UAE visa:
1.
Low profession
2.
Cancellation not updated in the system
3.
Existing UAE tourist visa
4.
Criminal background
5.
Immigration ban
With these new visa rules, The Sultanate of Oman is hoping
to welcome over 4 million tourists by the year 2020.
