How to get a transit visa at the Airport without any issues

Long haul flights with stopovers are tiresome. But what if you got a chance to discover Dubai?

Take an advantage of the Dubai transit visa to visit the UAE. This visa allows you to spend nearly 96 hours before you resume back on your onward journey. Transit visas for Dubai are not too hard to get but the regulations and requirements are specific so it’s required to plan well in advance if you want to get out of the airport.


Who is eligible for a transit visa?

If you’re traveling to the Dubai International Airport and have an approved onward ticket to another destination other than your place of origin. For example: Pakistan to Dubai to France. 


The time of the next departure from the Dubai International Airport should be at least eight hours after your arrival at the airport.

In case you’re a citizen of a visa-free country, you can get a visa on arrival for 14, 30 or 90 days instead of 96 hours transit visa. If you’re not eligible for a visa on arrival, then only airline can get this visa issued for you.

The pre-planning of a transit visa:

1.       If you’re not eligible for a visa on arrival, then you can get transit visa only by the airline you’re traveling with. 


2.       In this case, you’re required to have a confirmed hotel reservation in Dubai along with you. You can book the hotel booking before coming to Dubai or choose one of the airport hotel facilities available.

3.       If your trip has been booked by a travel agency, the travel agency can help you with the visa, but the transit visa can only be issued by the airlines.

4.       You can pre-plan your transit visa before your date of arrival at the Dubai Airport, by contacting your respective airline. But, remember that this visa is issued with a validity of 14 days from its date of issuance.

5.       Once you’ve landed on the Dubai International Airport, the visa gives you a 96 hours to roam freely in the city before reporting back for your onward flight. 



6.       To apply for a transit visa, you will have to submit your colored passport copies with 2 photographs and the visa fee of 100 AED for getting the visa. (Prices may be subject to changes. Kindly contact the respective airline you’re traveling with).
